Pupil Leadership

At Mansel our mission is to ‘Prepare children for life’. One of the ways we do this is by promoting leadership opportunities for our children to be involved in. Children who show strong leadership potential are awarded our termly SCSP award for leadership.

Current leadership opportunities for children within school include:

School Council
School councillors represent their class on the school council. They work together on various projects and support school leadership to look at ways of making our school even better.

Class Ambassadors
Each class has a class ambassador. These children are chosen by the teacher to lead by example with behaviour and attitudes towards learning, uphold our school values and ethos, be a role model to other students and be willing and able to talk about learning.

Sports Ambassadors
Sports ambassadors support our active playtimes and lunchtimes. They organise active play sessions for children to take part in and encourage children to join in with these.

Peer Ambassadors
The role of a peer ambassador is to support children in resolving conflict. They are present in the playground during playtimes and lunchtimes.

Job Squad
There are many other leadership opportunities within school too. These other roles are part of the job squad. These include milk and snack monitors and assembly music monitors.
