Welcome to Year 3 Kingfishers!
In our classroom we have Miss Choudhrey the class teacher and Miss Mayall and Miss Hinchcliffe who are our Teaching Assistants. We have working walls which we use regularly that can help the children with their learning. We have a maths, literacy and vocab board which has our current learning that is being taught that week. In autumn term we are learning about ourselves. We are using the book called Me and Mister P in our literacy lessons. We will be doing PSHE lessons which will enable us to discuss our differences, similarities and how we can react to certain situations positively. In maths we will be learning about place value and later in the term we will use different methods to solve addition and subtraction equations.
In our classroom we reward positive behaviour with house points. We have a special awards assembly every Friday morning where a child will be chosen for exceptional behaviour. During this assembly the child will be presented with a certificate and parents are welcome to attend.
On Mondays children will be doing PE so will need their full PE kit every Monday morning and can leave it on their peg.
At home we would like you to read with your child at least 3 times a week. For maths we encourage children to learn their 3, 4 and 8 times tables to develop to the Year 3 standard and we would also like you to use the home learning menu to complete a task a week. Home learning will be displayed in the classrooms.
